Timing runs
 
Attackers time their runs, in order to finish from a cross pass
 
Purpose: Timing runs to finish crosses

Practice set-up: Set up a channel from the touchline to the halfway line using cones. Set up a goal at the halfway line. A line of players is placed on each shortend of the channel. 2 strikers are placed intront of each goal, defended by goalkeepers. The first player in the file runs with the ball to the other side of the channel, and crosses the ball infront of the goal. The 2 strikers infront of the goal tries to score. A new player from the other file starts with the ball. The previous player who crossed the ball, chase the new player without tackling / stopping him. The ball is then crossed infront of the goal.

Equipment:
Cones, Balls, 1 portable goal.

Progression:
Move the channel to the opposite flank

Step 1: Drill start

Step 2: First player runs with the ball, and crosses it to the strikers

Step 3: New player runs with the ball, the previous crossing player chases the player running with the ball. The new crossing player crosses the ball to the strikers infront of the goal.

Step 4: Drill continues with a new crossing player. Previous crossing player chases the new crossing player
